Introduced in 1905, L'Origan ("marjoram") has over 100 years of history behind it, being the first of Coty's truly great perfumes. The fragrance swept Paris and helped consolidate Coty's reputation as a perfumer-promoter.

In L'Origan Coty demonstrated that it was possible to create a fine but affordable perfume that would appeal both to the upper classes and to the less affluent but very large middle class.

This scent has more recently been changed and reworked by the design house of Coty, however the modern composition does not compare to the vintage. The fragrance pallet it displays is somewhat shallow.

Our interpretation of this Edwardian scent was founded on an original, well preserved bottle of the perfume from the mid-20th century. Unlike the current blander versions, this rendering has the elegance and tenacity of the vintage fragrance with a rich powdery note and dark musky sensuality. For a lasting fragrance, apply just a touch of perfume oil to pulse points (at neck, inside of wrists, inside of elbows, behind ears and behind knees) once or twice a day, as desired.
